Oh That Tasty Tasty Hypocrisy

So, Ryuu posted three new pieces of art at the end of October, then abruptly stopped.

(I notice this was right about the time I began posting on Stupid Shit Ryuu Says again. Ryuu, don't flatter yourself. I didn't resume posting on SSRS because you started posting art, and I didn't stop posting period because you weren't posting art.

I'd actually like to see you post more, because there actually have been some minor improvements in these pieces.
 

But no, the two month gap happened because firstly, I had to take a bit of a break from posting things. Classwork happened. Secondly, my laptop had a little accident and I had to replace it.

Incidentally, I don't recommend riding a bike around campus while slightly drunk and carrying a laptop no matter how many times your friends dare you to do it. Rest in pieces, buddy.)

But I digress. Ryuu posted a piece called Against the Horde on October 21.

It looks like his usual stuff: goblins look pretty stiff, human has a horribly painful pose (assuming it's even possible), blah blah blah. But in one of Ryuu's comments, he states:

“Raphy needed some action and I had a bit of frustration to dish out, so I made him whack a bunch of nasties. xD”

Ignoring the fact that "whack a bunch of nasties" sounds like a nightmare of a euphemism, the date on the picture says July 22. You may be asking, "What happened in July?" That's what I'm here for. Lemme elaborate (and play with the formatting while I do so).

Notable events of July 2012 in chronological order:

• I posted the article Wherein Ryuu Sinks To A New Low outlining his racism and xenophobia on 5 July.

• One of our commenters submitted one of the quotes there to DumbDeviantArt on Tumblr. I don't know when exactly it was submitted, but had to have been on 5/6 July. I say that as it was accepted around 6 July. Ryuu's name isn't on the comment, making backlash minimal, but it's still being liked and reblogged.

•  Yours truly created the Stupid Shit Ryuu Says Tumblr on 7 July and reblogged the post in question.

•  Enoby Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way joined the blog as a contributor on July 17. On 14 July, she made her last post as a guest.

• When a fan of his found my SSRS Tumblr, she looked through it, saw the Dumb DeviantArt reblog, showed Ryuu and asked if he'd really said that. Ryuu said he did. She tried to explain to him why that's not okay to say.

• In response, he was BLATANTLY RACIST TO A WOMAN OF COLOR. This communication happened over the course of three days, from 17 July to 20 July.

• How do I know this? She took serious offense to this, as she should, and sent us an email explaining the situation/clarifying dates and she threw in a nice folder full of screencaps.

These events are all, bar Enoby officially joining the blog, directly connected. All of them happened within a three week time frame, too.

So while I don't doubt Ryuu had a lot of “frustration” going on, he's got no one to blame but himself.

Saying racist shit is very much not acceptable. Saying homophobic shit is becoming increasingly socially unacceptable. Ryuu's done both, and he also has a long history of treating people like crap.

Considering the fact that there had been a bunch of recent activity here coupled with Ryuu's now former fan on deviantArt, I'm guessing this picture is based on us.

And as Ryuu seemed to borderline idolize the Doctor and Enoby had just joined the blog, I can only come to the conclusion that the goblins are supposed to represent Rinku, his former fan and yours truly.

(I was unaware three people constitute a "horde" now, by the way. Nice melodrama there.)

On a closing note, I'd like to point something out.

While I've never heard this directed at anyone else, Ryuu and his fanbase like to accuse Rinku and I of being extremely angry (because I guess being told we're less than people should make us want to throw a fucking party).

Whether or not that's the case, this doesn't change the fact that WE ARE NOT THE ONES DRAWING REPRESENTATIONS OF ACTUAL PEOPLE GETTING KILLED BY OUR FANCHARACTERS BECAUSE PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET THINK OUR CHARACTERS SUCK.

If anyone needs anger management here, I'd say it's Ryuu. An "xD" at the end of that comment does not counter the fact that he drew representations of us getting murdered all because we don't think he's the most amazing thing ever.

Ryuu, therefore, also needs therapy. Decades of therapy.

Because this mindset is fucking disturbing. The fuck is wrong with you, Ryuu? Get your priorities fucking straight.
